The Ministry of Human Resource Development is organizing an Expert Group meeting on increasing high stress level amongst students appearing for board and entrance examinations. Keeping in view the various ill-fated incidents among students especially during the examinations, the Minister for Human Resource Development Shri Arjun Singh has expressed his concern over the issue. The Minister has already asked his Ministry to work out a plan on this serious matter.
Competitive examinations do not just undermine the board examinations and regular school patterns but also create expensive coaching institutions. This also gives an enormous handicap to students from rural areas and poorer households.
The Ministry of HRD has decided to discuss these crucial issues with the academic community and various related institutions. A high level meeting is being convened here tomorrow (24th March 2005) to find out methodologies for a stress free environment with joyful learning.
