Union Government has decided to enforce compulsory evaluation of all Centrally sponsored schemes. As announced in the Budget Speech for 2005-06, it has been decided to lay emphasis on measurement of development outcomes and programme impact through an evaluation of major plan schemes and programmes. The modalities of such an evaluation will be put in place shortly.
This information was given by Shri S.S. Palanimanickam, Minister of State for Finance in reply to a question by Shri B. Vinod Kumar in Lok Sabha today.
