Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Shri T.R. Baalu has assured all possible help to Madhya Pradesh to develop National Highways in the State. He further mentioned that the interests of Madhya Pradesh would be fully ensured while finalizing the stretches to be included in NHDP Ph. III for four laning. He was speaking during a meeting with the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shri Babu Lal Gaur. Shri Baalu said that it was the intention of the Government of India to develop the remaining single lane / intermediate lane sections of National Highways to two lanes with paved shoulders in a phased manner. He would like to have detailed discussion with the State on selection of projects related the sections included in NHDP Ph-III, the Minister added.
