The Vice-Minister-President of the Flemish Government and Flemish Minister for Economy, Enterprise, Science, Innovation and Foreign Trade, Government of Belgium, H.E. Mrs. Fientje Moerman called on the Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu, here today. She was accompanied by the Director General, Export Vlaanderen, Mr. Koen Allaert, the Economic and Trade Commissioner, Mr. Peter Verplancken and other senior officials of the Flemish Government. Senior officials of the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways were also present on this occasion.
During the Meeting, issues of mutual interest including dredging, inland waterways and port operations were discussed. It was generally felt that the activities between India and Belgium under the 1997 MOU are beneficial and should continue.
The two leaders also agreed to take steps for greater maritime cooperation between India and Belgium in future.
