Keeping in view that the situation in Nepal may have spill over effect in India especially in the States bordering Nepal, Sashstra Seema Bal (SSB) deployed on Indo-Nepal Border has stepped up vigilance. The concerned State Governments have also been asked to increase vigil and intensify partrolling along the entire Indo-Nepal border to prevent the ingress of the Maoists and also to check undesirable activities on the Indian side of the border.
The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri S. Regupathy told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply that there are reports to indicate that KLO besides its association with ULFA, has been trying to forge links with the CPN(Maoists), Nepal.
