The Members of these Associations have been resorting to Work-to-Rule agitation all over the country.

The Minister indicated that the telecom sector was passing through a growth oriented phase. It would not be appropriate to take any step which may be detrimental to the interests of BSNL in a competitive environment. The interests of subscriber should remain supreme said the minister. He also appealed that the Associations should not resort to such steps as may come in the way of speedy implementation of various measures being taken by the Government. The Minister conveyed to the representatives of the Associations that their representation would be addressed by the BSNL management. He appealed to the employees’ representatives to withdraw the agitation.

In response to the appeal by the Hon’ble Minister, the representatives of employees’ associations agreed to withdraw the agitation with immediate effect.
