bill for small scale sector

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Bill, 2005 is under formulation and attempts are underway to introduce the Bill in Parliament during the on-going session. On being enacted, this is expected to benefit the small enterprises, including the SSI sector, by providing a legal framework for promoting the growth and development and enhancing the competitiveness of these enterprises, including reducing the rigours of the “Inspector Raj”.

This information was given by the Minister of Small Scale Industries and Agro & Rural Industries, Shri Mahabir Prasad in reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
