Government has released 38 lakh MTs of sugar in market as quota for freesale for the quarter April to June 2005. With a levy quota of 2.16 lakh tonnes released for each of these three months, the total availability of sugar for the quarter would be 44.48 lakh tonnes.
With enough stocks in hand, the Government would not hesitate in releasing further quantities if required.
