The Government has sanctioned thirteen more NGOs for running the Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) for 2004-05. On the basis of the feasibility study report, the following NGOs have been recommended for JSS.

1. Scientific Educational Promotion & Medical AID Foundation, Saran (Bihar).

2. Ramjas Shikshan Samiti, Panipat (Haryana)

3. Sri Shakthi Association, Davanagere (Karnataka)

4. Rajiv Gandhi Education Foundation, Ernakulam, (Kerala)

5. Kebiz Shiksha Samiti, Sehore, (Madhya Pradesh)

6. Maharashtra Homoepathic Foundation, Ahmednagar (Maharashtra)

7. Lokkalyan Shiksha Sansthan, Gondia (Maharashtra)

8. Chil Chil Asian Mission Society, Senapati, (Manipur)

9. Late Badri Narayan Dhanraji Devi Gramothan Avam Shikshan Sansthan, Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh)

10. Shri Vihgneshwar Nawgrah Paryavaran Sansthan, Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh)

11. Manav Vikas Evam Sewa Sansthan, Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh)

12. Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra, Bageshwar (Uttranchal)

13. West Bengal Scheduled Caste, Tribes & Minority Welfare Association, West Midnapore (West Bengal)

The Scheme of Jan Shikshan Shasthan is a multifaceted adult educational programme aimed at improving the vocational skills and quality of life of its beneficiaries. The objective of the scheme is educational, vocational and occupational development of the socio-economically backward and educationally disadvantaged groups of urban/rural population particularly neo-literates, semi-literates, SCs, STs, women and girls, slum dwellers, migrant workers etc.
