The Union Cabinet today gave its ex-post facto approval to the Agreement between India and Serbia and Montenegro on cooperation in the fields of science and technology. The Agreement was signed by Shri Kapil Sibal, Minister of State for Science & Technology on behalf of the Indian side. The Agreement envisages promotion of cooperation in the fields of science and technology by means of:
a) Work on joint scientific research projects;
b) Exchange of researchers, university professors and experts;
c) Exchange of scientific and technological information and documents;
d) Temporary use or changes of equipment and materials that are necessary for such cooperation and granting of adequate equipment within the technical assistance programmes;
e) Organisation of joint scientific conferences, symposia, seminars, exhibitions, etc.
f) Setting up of joint scientific research centers and ad hoc research teams;
g) Others forms of scientific and technological cooperation on the basis of mutual agreements reached by research organizations, enterprises and other cooperating entities.
