plan outlay for the indian public carriers for 2005-06

The approved Plan Outlay of Indian Airlines Limited for the year 2005-06 is Rs. 911.73 crores of which Rs. 325.00 crores is to be provided by Government as budgetary support. Balance amount of Rs. 586.73 crores will be met out of the internal and extra budgetary resources of the company. Details of major schemes are:



(i) Aircraft Project



· The outgo of Rs. 112.44 crores is towards the repayment of loans to various banks and financial institutions abroad towards A-320 aircraft acquired earlier.

· Provision of Rs. 762.73 crores which includes budgetary support of Rs. 325.00 crores, has been made for purchase of 43 new Airbus aircraft for which PIB approval has been obtained and negotiations are at final stages.



(ii) Other Projects



· A provision of Rs. 36.56 crores has been made towards other supporting facilities which include construction of Workshop/Engineering facilities & other operational buildings including booking offices, purchase of Real Time Computer System & Allied equipment & Communication system equipment for providing ground support facilities, office furniture/fixtures, renovation of booking offices and welfare amenities.



The approved Annual Plan outlay of Air India Limited for the year 2005-06 is Rs. 468.74 crores of which a sum of Rs. 1.00 crore is to be provided as budgetary support by the Government. The balance amount of Rs. 467.74 crores will be met out of the internal and extra budgetary resources of the company. Details of major schemes are:





(i) Aircraft Projects



· A provision of Rs. 308.74 crores has been made for repayments of loans taken for acquisition of A310-300 Simulator and six B747-400 aircraft acquired earlier.

· A token provision of Rs. 10.00 crores including budgetary support of Rs. 1.00 crore has been made for new aircraft to be inducted by Air India Limited.



(ii) Other Projects



· A provision of Rs. 150.00 crores has been made for non-aircraft projects which include other supporting facilities such as Ground Handling Equipment, Engineering, Workshop Equipment, Security Equipment, Computer, Office Equipment etc.
