supplementary transmission system of sipat project

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCEA) today approved the establishment of supplementary transmission system associated with Sipat Stage-II Project at a total estimated cost of Rs.813.67 crore including an Interest During Construction (IDC) of Rs.35.04 crore.

The transmission lines are being established as follows:

(i) Seoni (PGVIL) – Wardha (PGCIL) 765 kV S/C line 275 km

(ii) Wardha (PGCIL) – Akola (MSEB) 400 kV D/C line 184 km

(iii) Akola (MSEB) – Aurangabad (MSEB) 400 kV D/C line 265 km

The transmission project would facilitate dispersal of power from Sipat-I (3 X 660 MW) and Sipat-II (2 X 500 MW) project to various parts of western region.

The transmission project would be completed within 36 months from the date of investment approval.
