Railway Station Superintendent caught taking bribe

CBI wednesday arrested a Station Superintendent, Northern Railway, Chandigarh Railway Station while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000/- from a complainant in order to allow parking/plying of private taxis in the Railway Station premises. Parking at the Chandigarh Railway Station premises has been given on contract to a parking contractor, who charges fee from taxi operators. However, the arrested Superintendent was asking for monthly bribe and being aggrieved, the complainant approached C.B.I. On verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and the Station Superintendent was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs.5,000/-. He is being produced in the court today for his remand.
