The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Steel produced 17.45 lakh tonnes of iron ore and 7113 carats of diamonds respectively in April 2005 representing 108 per cent and 107 per cent of the targets. The Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL) has produced 54594 tonnes of manganese ore against the target of 54500 tonnes reflecting an achievement of 100.17 per cent during April 2005. Bharat Refractories Ltd. produced 6339 tonnes of refractories during April 2005 which is higher by 14 per cent as compared to the same period last year.
