Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC), a public sector unit of the Ministry of Coal has produced 1,643.70 million units of electricity during April 2005 against a target of 1,432 million units with an increase of 14.78 per cent. It has generated 4.66 per cent more power during the month against 1,570.55 million units produced during the same month last year. It has exported 1,408.67 million units during April 2005 against a target of 1,196 million units. During the month, the lignite production has been 17.92 lakh tonnes, slightly less than the target of 18.50 lakh tonnes.
