Loading :

The total loading during the month as well as during the cumulative period upto May, 2005 were more than the targets by 3.25 million tonnes and 5.15 million tonnes respectively.

Passenger Traffic:

The total number of passengers booked during the month of May, 2005 as well as during the cumulative period upto May, 2005 has increased by 11.63% and 10.72% respectively as compared to the same period of last year. The total number of passengers booked during May, 05 has increased on all Railways when compared to the same period of last year.

Earning:

During the cumulative period upto May, 2005 the total earnings were more than the Budget Proportions (BP) by Rs. 180.13 crores.

Working Expenses:

The ordinary working expenses during the month as well as during cumulative period upto May, 05 were less than the Budget Proportions (BP) by Rs. 447.25 crores and Rs. 652.04 crores respectively.

Safety:

The number of accidents during the cumulative period upto May, 2005 was less when compared to same period of last year.

Punctuality of Mail and Express Trains:

The punctuality of Mail/Express trains Broad Gauge (BG) during May, 2005 has shown improvement on all Railways when compared to May, 04.

Out-turn of Production Units:

During the month of May, 2005 as well as during the cumulative period upto May, 05 while the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) and Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) exceeded the targeted production of coaches, wheel and axles respectively, Chittranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) and Railway Coach Factory (RCF) attained the targeted production in locos and coaches respectively.
