The Government of India in a notification dated June 27, 2005 has declared the services in industry engaged in manufacture or production of mineral oil (crude oil), motor and aviation spirit, diesel oil, kerosene oil, fuel oil, diverse hydrocarbon oils and their blends including synthetic fuels, lubricating oils and the like, which are covered by item 26 of the First Schedule to Industrial Dispute Act 1947 to be a public utility service for a period of further six months from July 16, 2005.
This industry was declared to be a public utility service for a period of six months from January 16, 2005 vide the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India notification of January 11, 2005.
