Shri Dayanidhi Maran, Minister for Communications & IT has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the tragic accident which took place near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh today in which 19 employees of the BSNL lost their lives and 20 others injured. The employees belonging to the Baroda Telecom Circle were on an excursion trip to Himachal Pradesh.
Shri Maran has condoled the death of the BSNL employees and has made all arrangements to airlift the dead bodies. On learning about this incident, Shri Maran immediately contacted the Defence Minister and requested for speedy assistance by Indian Air Force. Accordingly, two helicopters from IAF are being pressed into service and would reach Dharamshala tomorrow morning and airlift the dead and injured to Baroda via Pathankot.
Shri Dayanidhi Maran has also instructed the CMD, BSNL to personally supervise assistance and relief to the injured and the families of the deceased.
