CBI arrests Executive Engineer of DDA for bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday arrested an Executive Engineer, North Division XI, Delhi Development Authority(DDA), Ashok Vihar, Delhi for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 15,000/- from the complainant for settling his pending bills which were lying with the accused official.

Searches were carried out at the residence of the Executive Engineer and 57 bank accounts were found which were either in his or his family member's name. One such account in the name of his wife had a balance of Rs. 15 lakh. It was also found that the accused had in his possession a house measuring 180 sq. yards at Anand Vihar, Delhi. CBI sleuths found that the accused had in his possession two school buildings measuring 450 sq. yards at Durgapuri Extension, Delhi and 3250 sq. yards at Wazirpur, Delhi respectively. Besides, the accused was found having agricultural land measuring two and a half acres.

The accused is being produced today before the designated court.
