The total production of Aluminium metal in the country during April-May 2005 has been estimated at 1,52,296 tonnes as against 1,35,480 tonnes during the same period last year. Out of this, the public sector National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) produced 58,675 tonnes and Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) with 49 per cent Central Government equity 16,121 tonnes. The private sector Hindalco Industries Limited (HINDALCO) produced 71,209 tonnes and Madras Aluminium Company Limited (MALCO) 6,291 tonnes.
In May 2005, the total production of Aluminium in the country was 76,778 tonnes, out of which NALCO produced 29,561 tonnes, BALCO 7,955 tonnes, HINDALCO 36,068 tonnes and MALCO 3,194 tonnes.
