The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) static display area in the Paris Air Show today. The Air Chief sat inside the cockpit of Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv and familiarised himself with the modern cockpit layout of ALH. The ALH and Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) are among the biggest attractions of Paris Air Show, 2005.
The HAL test pilots flew Dr Arjoon Suddhoo, Chairman of Air Mauritius who was highly impressed with the versatility of Dhruv in the civil role. He showed keen interest in Dhruv for its possible use in tourism in Mauritius.
HAL Chairman Shri Ashok K Baweja held discussions with representatives of BAE systems, Rolls Royce, Bell Helicopter and Schweizer Helicopters. Shri Baweja also met S Ramadorai, CEO and Managing Director Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to further strengthen the cooperation between the two Indian giants aiming to address the world market with synergised efforts. HAL and TCS have commenced collaboration to provide end-to-end engineering solutions to global customers.
Speaking at the Paris Air Show Shri Baweja said that HAL-TCS partnership will leverage the strong engineering tradition in India to offer end-to-end solution to the global aerospace industry. With TCS strong international presence and HALs domain expertise, the partners will be able to go to market aggressively, he added. Shri Ramadorai said that we are strengthening our long relationship with HAL to offer complete best-in-class engineering solutions to the global aerospace industry. He said with increasing interest in global sourcing of engineering services, the unique combination of HAL and TCS will offer compelling value propositions for global clients.
