The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments: -
Shri N.C. Padhi, IPS (MP:1968) has been appointed as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat for a tenure upto 31st July, 2007.
Shri Pradeep Singh, IAS (AGMU:74) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Shri Vijai Sharma, IAS (UP:74), currently in the cadre has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat.
Shri Shantanu Consul, IAS (KN:74), currently in the cadre has been appointed as Administrator, Universal Services Obligation Fund, Department of Telecommunications, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
Shri Madhukar Gupta, IAS (UL:71), currently Vice-Chairman, Delhi Development Authority, Ministry of Urban Development has been re-notified in his present post in the rank and pay of Secretary.
Shri M.S. Srinivasan, IAS (TN:71), currently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has been re-notified as Special Secretary.
Shri Ashok K Mohapatra, IAS (HP:71) has been appointed as Chairman, Tariff Commission, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, in the rank and pay of Secretary.
Shri M. Damodaran, IAS (MT:71), currently Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India, Ministry of Finance has been re-notified in his present post in the rank and pay of Secretary.
Shri S.Y. Quraishi, IAS (HY:71), currently Additional Secretary and Director General, National Aids Control Organisation, Department of Health & Family Welfare has been re-notified as Special Secretary and Director Geneal, NACO.
Shri J. Sridhar Sharma, IAS (AP:71), currently in the cadre has been appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, by temporarily operating the vacant post of Secretary as Special Secretary. Shri Brijesh Kumar, IAS (UP:68), Secretary, Department of Information Technology, will continue to hold full additional charge as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications and Chairman, Telecom Commission.
Ms. Meena Gupta, IAS (OR:71), currently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment & Forests has been re-notified as Special Secretary in the Ministry by operating the post at the level of Special Secretary.
