The Council has decided to abjure the calendar-based approach and resort to an ongoing approval process. It has been decided to give further time to all Trusts/Societies that had applied for establishment of new technical institutions for this session 2005-06 but could not be considered for issue of LOI/LOA due to certain shortcomings at various stages of the approval process.
There are broadly three category of cases: (a) where it was not found possible to issue LOI even after consideration of appeal due to certain requirements having not been complied with by the cut off date (b) where LOI was withdrawn on account of non-availability of required built up area and / or other shortcomings and (c) where inspections/re-visits have revealed shortfall vis a vis requirements. However many institutions falling in these categories have been representing to the Council that they have since fulfilled conditions/rectified deficiencies and are completely ready for an inspection having complied with all norms and standards prescribed by the Council in terms of land, building, infrastructure, Principal, faculty, staff etc. It has been decided to give institutions falling in the above mentioned categories an opportunity to apply to the Council for an inspection/revisit in case they are ready in all respects for an instantaneous visit by the expert committee.
The application in this regard must be made to the Council latest by 16th August, 2005 for consideration of issue of LOA for 2005-06. Any request received after 16th August, 2005, would be taken up for issue of LOA for the year 2006-07.
Institutions should note that the Council shall insist on 100% fulfillment of all AICTE norms and requirements before issue of LOA.
