The Government has approved upgradation of 4,000 km of National Highways under NHDFP Phase IIIA at a cost of Rs.22,000 crores on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis. Approval has also been given for initiating advance action in the form of preparation of Detailed Project Reports for another 6000 km. of National Highways under NHDP Phase IIIB. NHDP Phase III A is scheduled for completion by December, 2009.
This information was given in the Rajya Sabha today in a written reply by the Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Shri K. H. Muniyappa.
