The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on various National Highway sections in the State of Uttar Pradesh at a total cost of Rs. 2777.55 lakhs.
Approval has been granted for the following works on NH 24 (Delhi-Bareilly-Lucknow road):
· Improvement in riding quality in km 23.0 to 28.0 at a cost of Rs. 294.40 lakhs.
· Periodical repair works in km 414.0 to 424.0 and km 460.0 to 469.0 at a cost of Rs. 276.41 lakhs.
· Improvement in riding quality in km 473.0 to 481.0 and km 405.0 to 407.0 at a cost of Rs. 345.63 lakhs.
· Improvement of riding surface, raising of footpath and safety works at Hardinge bridge in km 495 in Lucknow at a cost of Rs. 41.91 lakhs.
· Improvement of riding surface in km 495 (Hardinge bridge crossing), km 496 (Surajkund park crossing) in Lucknow city and km 410 (Toll plaza of Sarain bridge) at a cost of Rs. 89.85 lakhs.
· Improvement in riding quality in km 497(700 m), 498 and 499, and repair and raisinf of footpath, railing etc. in km 496 to 499 at a cost of Rs. 354.64 lakhs.
Approval has also been granted for improvement of road from km 74.0 to 88.0 (14 km) including widening to 2 lane in km 80-88 and raising in Sumerpur Abadi portion in km 78-79 of Hamirpur-Sagar section on NH 86 in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of Rs. 499.40 lakhs.
Further, repair works have also been approved in different stretches of NH 19, NH 58, NH 58E, NH 73 and NH 86 in Uttar Pradesh at a total cost of Rs. 875.31 lakhs.
