The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on various National Highway sections in the State of Punjab at a total cost of Rs. 1310.32 lakhs.
Approval has been granted for strengthening of the crust in km 115 to 126 of Patiala-Sangrur-Barnala-Bathinda section of NH 64 at a cost of Rs. 478.33 lakh.
Approval has also been granted for providing paved shoulders from km 45.08 to 63.50 on Ludhiana-Ferozpur section of NH 95 at a cost of Rs. 426.27 lakhs. Further, provision of paved shoulders in km 68.70 to 78.309 and km 79.325 to 90.00 on the same section of NH 95 in Punjab at a cost of Rs. 405.72 lakhs has also been approved.
