To facilitate the filing of returns by taxpayers, (other than those having income from Business & Profession), the Income Tax Department has taken the following steps:
Special Counters to receive Returns of Salaried taxpayers, Pensioners and Senior Citizens deriving income from pension (other than those having income from Business & Profession) have been planned at Pragati Maidan Hall No.11 Gate No.7. The counters shall function from 28th July to 31st July, 2005. Special counters shall function from 10 AM to 5 PM everyday.
Separate counters shall be set up for senior citizens (above 65 years of age) who derive income from pension.
Enquiry counters will be set up to take care of all general and specific enquiries of the taxpayers.
The taxpayers having salary or pension income may file their returns in Form no. 2D, 2E, ITS 3 ( Saral, New Saral & Saral ITS 3 Return of Income).
The last date for filing of Income Tax Returns for Assessment Year 2005-06 (Financial Year 2004-05) for persons having income from salary and pension is 31st July, 2005. During 28th to 31st July, 2005, tax returns shall be received ONLY at the Special counters at Pragati Maidan and NOT AT Mayur Bhawan, Connaught Place, New Delhi.
