smt. nirmala venkatesh to replace smt. motamma in national commission for women

The government has nominated Smt. Nirmala Venkatesh as a new member of the National Commission for Women (NCW) in place of Smt. Motamma.Smt. Motamma was one of the five members nominated to the reconstituted of NCW in May 2005.Government has cancelled nomination due to Smt. Motamma’s unwillingness and failure to take up the office.

Smt. Nirmala Venkatesh shall hold office for a term not exceeding three years from the date of assumption of charge of office or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The other four existing members are-Smt. Malini Bhattacharya ; Ms. Sushila Tiriya; Smt. Neeva Konwar and Smt.Yasmeen Abrar.
