A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Indian Railways and the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation for running a luxury tourist train in the Karnataka sector. Presently, the Railways runs the Palace on Wheels and Deccan Odyssey, the luxury tourist trains; the Bharat Darshan special, a tourist train for the common people; and the Fairy Queen, a heritage steam safari.
This information was given by the Minister of state for Railways Shri R. Velu in written reply to a question raised by Shri S.P.M. Syed Khan, Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha today.
