The Minister of State for Railways, Shri R.Velu in written reply to a question by Shri Abu Asim Azmi in Rajya Sabha today said that the ongoing rail projects at present include 10 new line, 13 gauge conversion, 24 doubling, 4 railway electrification and 4 metropolitan transport projects in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttaranchal which are at various states of progress. An amount of approx. Rs. 3521 crore has been spent on these projects upto 31.03.2005.
