The motorcycle expedition under taken by Air warriors of Western Air Command has been successfully completed. The expedition team arrived in Delhi today.

The 11-member team was welcomed at HQ WAC, IAF by Air Marshal PV Naik VSM on 29 Jul 2005 on their return to Delhi after successful completion of 12 days motorcycle expedition. The expedition team was earlier flagged-in at AF Station Thoise by Air Vice Marshal SK Gahlaut VM on 24 Jul 2005.

Air Warriors of Indian Air Force have always been on the forefront be it war or peace and the air warriors of Headquarter Western Air Command, are equally active in the field of Adventure and sports. Air Marshal AK Singh AVSM VM VSM, AOC-in-C western Air Command said this during his address to the distinguished gathering at India gate while flagging off the expedition SAGAR SE AKASH TAK earlier on on 15 Jul 2005.

The 11-member expedition team consisting of 3 Officers and 8 Airmen, went through Ajmer – Gandhi Nagar – Kavi – Udaipur – Jaipur – Chandigarh – Manali – Patsiao – Leh – Khardungla – Thoise and spread the message of peace and brotherhood on Kargil Vijay Diwas & spirit of adventure amongst the IAF personnel and the civil masses enroute. The expedition covered a total distance of 3775 kms in just 12 days, through plain land, desert, hilly terrain, flood affected Gujarat, rain and inclement weather.
