The total production of Lignite during June 2005 by the Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC), a public sector unit of the Ministry of Coal has been estimated at 18.81 lakh tonnes which is 7.49 per cent more than the target of 17.50 lakh tonnes and 17.93 per cent more than the production of 15.95 lakh tonnes during the same month last year. The company during the month generated 1538.23 million units of power, 14.11 per cent more than the target of 1348 million units and 27.89 per cent more than the production of 1202.76 million units in June last year. It exported 1311.38 million units during the month, which is 30.58 per cent more than 1004.26 million units exported during June 2004.
