The Minister of Tribal Affairs and Development of North-East Region (DONER), Shri P. R. Kyndiah had a meeting with the Chief Minister, Smt. Shiela Dikshit, yesterday, to discuss the construction of a 1000-room hostel in Delhi for students hailing from north-east region. The Minister of State for statistics & Programme Implementation, Shri Oscar Fernandes also accompanied Shri Kyndiah.
In the meeting, Shri Kyndiah expressed his willingness to provide funds for land procurement. Meanwhile the Delhi CM, Smt Dikshit assured the Minister that she would take-up the matter with Delhi Development Authority and Delhi University for this purpose. She also assured to extend financial assistance in collaboration with the concerned ministries and State governments of North-East region.
