Considering the disruption caused by heavy rains in Goa, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the due date for filing of returns of income to 31st August, 2005 in case of assessees in the State of Goa. A decision to extend the due date for filing of returns of income, which is 31st July, 2005, was taken by CBDT in exercise of powers conferred under Section 119 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, here today.
