indian railways records good growth exceeds targets – june, 2005

The total number of passengers booked during the month of June, 2005 as well as during the cumulative period upto June, 05 has increased by 7.43% and 9.78% respectively as compared to the same period last year. The total number of passengers booked during the month of June,05 increased on all Railways compared to the same period last year.

During the month as well as cumulative period upto June, 2005 the total earnings were more than the Budget Proportions (BP) by Rs. 32.04 crores and Rs. 465.10 crores respectively

The number of accidents during the month of June, 2005 and during cumulative period upto June, 05 were less compared to same period last year.

The punctuality of Mail/Express trains Broad Gauge (BG) during June, 2005 showed improvement on all Railways compared to June, 04.

During the month as well as during the cumulative period upto June, 2005 while the Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) exceeded the targeted production of wheel and axles, Chittranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) and Railway Coach Factory (RCF) attained the targeted production in locos and coaches respectively. During the month, Integral Coach Factory (ICF) attained the targeted production in coaches while upto June, 05 exceeded the production in coaches.
