In keeping with the declaration in the National Common Minimum Programme (NCMP) and the announcement in the July 2004 Budget Speech of the Finance Minister, Government has prepared a Draft Scheme titled the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) covering traditional industries like coir, khadi and village industries. Based on a cluster approach the proposal has been circulated to various Ministries and Departments for their comments . After final approval the Scheme is likely to be commenced during 2005-06.
This information was given by the Minister of Small Scale Industries and Agro & Rural Industries , Shri Mahabir Prasad in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
