The Finance Minister Shri P. Chidambram held a meeting here today with prominent Chief Finance Officers (CFOs) of Indian corporate to seek their views on the outlook of economy, financial sector reforms, domestic and foreign investment and capital market issues etc. CFOs representing different sectors attended the meeting and extended their views. The main focus of the meeting was on investment, infrastructure development, globalization and exchange rates. Briefing the media persons after the meeting, Chief Economic Advisor Dr. Ashok Lahiri said that the Finance Minister would again meet the CFOs after 3-4 months to discuss the taxation issues including tax administration and custom procedures.
Secretary (Economic Affairs), Secretary (Expenditure), Secretary (Revenue), Advisor to FM, Chief Economic Advisor, Chairman, CBDT and CBEC and other senior officers of Finance Ministry attended the meeting.
