The Government has not stopped export of coal by the Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries and the system is transparent. The quantity involved is very small which amounts to 0.007 per cent of the total despatch made by CIL during 2004-05. It has no impact on price and supply of coal to non-core sector and bulk industrial consumers.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Coal & Mines, Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
