Lok Sabha
The following ten Low Power Transmitters (LPTs) are presently technically ready the commissioning by the Prasar Bharati. Kolhapur, Punganur (Andhra Pradesh), Satarsal (Assam), Fatehabad, Kaithal (Haryana), Mudhol, Singhnur (Karnataka), Bahalda (Orissa), Khajuwala (Rajasthan) and Ambassa (Tripura).
Expenditure incurred on the above transmitters is Rs. 7.32 crore. The required number of staff for operation and maintenance of these transmitters has not been sanctioned so far. The annual estimated expenditure on operation and maintenance of a LPT is about Rs. 18 lakh.
