A seven member Indian delegation led by Secretary (Culture), Smt. Neena Ranjan leaves for Islamabad (Pakistan) today to participate in the 2nd round of talks on Promotion of Friendly Exchanges in Various Fields.
Wide ranging proposals are likely to be discussed for promotion of friendly exchanges in the fields of art, culture, tourism, archaeology, youth affairs, films, information & broadcasting and unani medicine. Discussions are likely on expanding the scope of the 1974 bilateral protocol on visits on religious shrines by increasing the number of shrines on both sides. The two sides are also expected to deliberate on ways to increase people to people contact between the two countries.
The first round of talks was held in New Delhi on August 3-4, 2004.
