The Centre has released a grant of Rs. 500 crore from the National Calamity Contingency Fund for flood relief in Gujarat. An inter-ministerial team is leaving for the State on Monday to make an on the spot assessment of the damage caused by floods. The situation in the State has improved considerably. The Centre is keeping a close watch on the situation.
