The Government is very serious about its commitment to the welfare of Minorities. The expenditure in 2003-04 was Rs. 21.20 crore. In the first budget of the present Government a special additional allocation of Rs. 50 crore was made for equity contribution to National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation. Excluding the special allocation, the budget allocation was Rs. 22.29 crore in the year 2004-05. In the year 2004-05 the budget allocation is Rs. 49.60 crore. Moreover, members of Minority Communities also access all the welfare and economic betterment schemes, which are administered for all sections of the society.
