One thousand one hundred and sixty one bridges were constructed on various National Highways in the country during the last three years.
One hundred ninety five bridges are proposed to be taken up for construction on National Highways other than National Highway Development Project (NHDP) stretches during the current financial year subject to the availability of funds. Nine hundred and ninety sev en bridges constructed/under-construction/proposed to be constructed during the current financial year under NHDP, which is being implemented by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
This information was given in the Lok Sabha today in a written reply by the Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Shri K. H. Muniyappa.
