3000 mw additional capacity of wind energy to be installed in next two years

Presently, wind energy is the fastest growing renewable energy sector in the country. Considering the present rate of installation, it is expected that an additional wind power capacity of about 3000 MW will be achieved in the country during the next two years i.e. by the end of 2006-07.

Wind power Projects aggregating to a capacity of 3595 MW have been installed in the country as on 31st March, 2005. State-wise wind power installed capacity is given below :-
