The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on various National Highway sections in the State of Gujarat at a total cost of Rs. 4512.19 lakhs.
Approval has been granted for improvement of riding quality from km 14.0 to 24.0 of NH 8A (Ahmedabad-Bhayala-Bagodra section) at a cost of Rs. 294.50 lakhs. Strengthening of the existing 2-lane carriageway from km 60.0 to 75.0 of NH 8A Extn. (Gandhidham-Mundra-Mandvi Section) has approved at a cost of Rs. 456.36 lakhs. Further, on the same section, strengthening from km 75.0 to 90.600 has also been approved at a cost of Rs. 475.67 lakhs.
Approval has been granted for improvement of riding quality and strengthening of the following stretches of NH 8E Extn. (Somnath-Dwarka-Porbandar Section):
· km 263.2 to 283.2 at a cost of Rs. 493.37 lakhs.
· km 305.2 to 310.2 and km 349.2 to 354.2, costing Rs. 236.99 lakhs.
· km 390.0 to 397.0 at a cost of Rs. 205.95 lakhs.
· km 376.0 to 386.0 at a cost of Rs. 294.78 lakhs.
Further, nine repair works have also been approved in a total length of 125.05 km in different stretches of NH 8D, NH 8E, and NH 15 in Gujarat at a total cost of Rs. 2054.57 lakhs.
