The Prime Minister has been closely monitoring the situation in Gujarat consequent to the widespread floods caused by torrential rain in that State. Prime Minister has been in regular contact with the Chief Minister of the State and has expressed great concern at the situation. He had also conveyed his deep regret at the loss of life and damage to property that has been sustained in Gujarat.
Prime Minister had assured the Chief Minister of the Central Government’s commitment to extend all necessary assistance to ameliorate the distress of the people of Gujarat.
