The Vice President Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has deeply condoled the death of noted film personality Amrish Puri. In his condolence message, Shri Shekhawat had said that an extremely amiable person, Amrish Puri endeared himself to one and all through his innate simplicity and sensitivity. In his death, the country has lost a distinguished actor and a fine human being.
Following is the text of the condolence message of the Vice President:
“ It was with a sense of deep sorrow that I received the news of sudden passing away of Amrish Puri.
A noted film personality Amrish Puri made an immense contribution to Hindi Cinema through his outstanding acting in varied roles. In a long carrier in the film industry, he worked with generations of Directors, both parallel and commercial cinema and progressively enriched intrinsic content of the cinema. An extremely amiable person , Amrish Puri endeared himself to one and all through his innate simplicity and sensitivity. In his death, the country has lost a distinguished actor and a fine human being.
My wife joins me in conveying our heart felt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and pray to the Almighty to give strength and fortitude to withstand this tragedy. We also pray to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.”
