tsunami relief efforts under petroleum ministry

LPG tanker ‘GAS ETERNITY’ carrying 800 MT stocks of LPG berthed at Port Blair today. This provides 75 days’ cover for supply of LPG in the Tsunami affected areas of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The present availability of 51 MT is enough to cater to the needs of two days.

Fresh stocks of MS, HSD, SKO and ATF which arrived in MT Harsha from Haldia are being discharged from the tanker to replenish the stocks of these products already available in the Islands. The tanker berthed at Port Blair at 12.00 hours yesterday. The tanker brought in the stocks ATF: 1000 KL, SKO:2700 KL and HSD: 1830 KL.

Full demand of products is being met and there is no report of non-availability of products. A team of officers of IOC is camping in Port Blair to monitor the stocks and supplies. POL products are being regularly transported to other islands also in barrels as per the requirement conveyed by the administration.
