The status of POL supplies in Andaman & Nicobar as on 5.1.2005 is as under :

*An additional quantity of 500 KL kerosene has been released.
**LPG stocks are being replenished on priority. LPG tanker is expected to reach Port Blair on 11.1.2005. This would provide 75 days cover.
Full demand of products is being met. A team of officers of IOC is camping in Port Blair to monitor the stocks and supplies.
Six bowzers (ATF re-fuellers) (3each at Port Blair and Car Nicobar) are available for dispensing ATF.
The tanker MT Harsha docket at Port Blair yesterday and the products are being unloaded at the moment. The quantitities are: ATF: 1460 KL, SKO: 376 KL and HSD: 4560 KL. The unloading is expected to be completed by 2200 hours today. The tanker would sail for Haldia tomorrow morning for replenishment of stocks.
40 KL ATF is being transported by sea to Car Nicobar from Port Blair in 200 barrels.
POL products are being transported to other islands also in barrels through Government agencies.
Following additional quantities of Kerosene have been released to other affected areas. Tamil Nadu: 10,000 KL Kerala: 7000 KL Pondicherry: 400 KL, and Andhra Pradesh: 10,000 KL.
The oil PSUs have contributed Rs.55 crore to the PMs National Relief fund.
