The Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Sunil Dutt has announced that the sports facilities available at the Stadiums of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) will now be opened free of cost to the children who have won the National Bravery Award since 1957.

Shri Sunil Dutt was speaking to the children who have won National Bravery Award and would receive these Awards on the eve of the Republic Day. Speaking at a ceremony held at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium here today, Shri Dutt applauded the children for their outstanding acts of bravery and encouraged them to excel in every field in future. He said that giving recognition through such Awards give inspiration to others also and makes the society proud of such brave children.

He also praised the parents of these brave children as they inculcated such positive qualities in their children that they could come forward to save the lives of others. He said these children would certainly become responsible citizens and the country would be proud of them.

Smt. Meenaxi Anand Chaudhry also spoke on the occasion and applauded the children for their exemplary courage. She said that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has recently launched a scheme for adolescents for the children of 10 to 19 years of age, keeping in view the special needs of this age group and already an amount of Rs. Three Crore has been disbursed under this scheme.
